Navigation: integration of information from multiple sources into the workflow
Prescriptor-EPS provides access to national, regional and/or local guidelines for direct use during face to face consultations. This easy access to the information is like the difference between a navigation system and a road atlas. Still, even an excellent navigation system lacks the ability to include the opinions and experiences of care providers themselves. A certain amount of flexibility is therefore needed to offer care providers to change and/or adjust the therapeutic route during the consultation process.
In addition to the options offered from the translated guidelines, one might also like to add or make local changes based on alternative interdisciplinary group consensus or local procurement of preferred medicines. Towards this end, we have developed Prescriptor-Wizard, an additional formulary management tool that enables care professionals to make these local changes. In addition to top-down reference guidelines, this bottom-up approach can enhance the uptake, compliance and adherence to this mixture of guideline support.
